Common Questions
What is a truck dispatch service?
A truck dispatch service acts as the back office for an owner operator or small fleet. We search load boards and our direct shipper network, negotiate the rate, book the load, send and file the rate confirmation, plan the route and border clearance, track the load, and invoice the broker or shipper afterwards. The driver focuses on driving.
How much do you charge for dispatch?
We charge a flat percentage of the linehaul on loads we book. There are no setup fees, no monthly minimums, no forced dispatch and no long-term contract. The percentage depends on your equipment type and fleet size.
Do I need my own authority to use your dispatch service?
No. You can run under your own MC/DOT authority and use us purely for dispatch, or you can lease on and run under Right Path Trucking authority — which also gives you our insurance, safety program and compliance support.
Can I refuse a load?
Always. We do not do forced dispatch. We learn which lanes, shippers and rates you will and will not take, and we stop bringing you the ones you would turn down anyway.
Do you dispatch across the Canada–US border?
Yes — it is our specialty. We handle PARS and PAPS, ACE and ACI eManifest filing, customs broker coordination, and bonded moves. We also monitor border wait times so delivery appointments hold.
How fast can you get me set up?
Most owner operators are onboarded and running their first load within 48 hours of sending in their authority, insurance certificate, W-9 or GST number and a voided cheque.
